Car

Travelling by car is the most convinient option, also to get around in Katherine Town.

Katherine is also known as "cossways of the north". The Stuart Highway connects all cities and towns in the Northern Territory south to north. Katherine is 300 kms south of Darwin. We are also located on the Savannah Highway, exactly half way going west to east from Broome to Cairns.

 

If you arrive in Katherine without a car - no worries. There are two car rental companies within Katherine, Thrifty and Hertz, with drop off and pick up points.

You can also fly into Darwin and hire a vehicle from the Darwin airport with Hertz, Thrifty & Avis.   

Bus

 

The Greyhound Bus Service has Katherine as one of its stop over points.

Train - The Ghan

 

The magnificent Ghan runs through the centre of Australia from Adelaide to Darwin, and Katherine is one of the major visiting destinations.
