Try a cultural experience in Katherine with resident local indigenous artist Manuel Pamkal. Sit down with Manuel and listen to tales of tribal life, language, the hunting and gathering techniques, ceremony, weapons used and aboriginal contemporary life. Create your own Rarrk painting with Manuel using a special brush made out of a reed called a Jalk. You will also have an opportunity to light a fire using two special sticks and try your hand at throwing a spear using a woomera. It is a fun experience for all.

Session times for the Cultural Experience are 9.30am and 2.30pm every day from May to October. Minimum of four people are required.

The Katherine Cultural Experience is located at Top Didj & Art Gallery which has a beautiful bush location on the way to Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) and offers a large range of didgeridoos, authentic Aboriginal artwork and a chance to participate in a cultural experience. There are Aboriginal crafts including boomerangs, weaving, dilly bags, clap sticks and carvings.

Open 7 days a week 9am to 5pm May to October. Art Gallery fee entry.

November to April - by appointment only.

Child rates are from 3 - 15.  16 years and over are classed as adults.

We have additions to our wallaby family, with female wallabies we have released coming back to show off their joeys. They are so cute.
