Being only 35km from Alice Springs, Ooraminna is your true taste of the Outback, whether it be for camping, swagging, or luxury accommodation in our quaint cottages, we have something for all tastes. Our homestead offers meals at the dining room or self cater at your accommodation. There is a bar to quench your thirst after an enjoyable walk in the unique arid landscape or visiting the many animals that reside here. Billy tea or a camp oven dinner can even be arranged down by the waterhole. Take in nature and relax in the silence of the Outback.

Description

Ooraminna means "hot tucker" which in turn for Non -Australians means "hot food". Many a hot meal has been served at Ooraminna with the thousands of people that have attended functions at the famous movie set from Drover's Boy. The set has since been used in many a film and commercial and more regularly as the dining venue of Ooraminna.

Entertainment and dining experiences are supported at Ooraminna by gorgeous accommodations and a campground.

A family owned private 600 acres with the desert backdrop of Alice Springs escarpments, come to Oooraminna to enjoy the tranquillity and charm of the OUTBACK.

Ooraminna boasts four unique luxury cottages each with their own special features.

Directions

Please be aware that Maryvale Road (Old South Road) is a dirt access road. It is preferably accessed with a medium to large vehicle. 2WD is acceptable however the conditions can vary.

Camp Site

The quiet Ooraminna Campground has hot showers and toilets in the middle of 600 acres of private walking trails. Plenty of birdlife at the billabong up the track and a canopy of stars in the serene outback skies overhead.

Fires are allowed.

BBQ packs available with prior notice and meals can be catered for at the homestead. Bookings required.

Bush Cottage

Family Cottage

this gorgeous Stone Cottage was part of a previous movie set. It was the Police Station and Gaol complex and this is now the accommodation. Delightful family accommodation or for a couple wanting a relaxing retreat. The Stone Cottage has 1 x King bed and 2 x single or can be changed to 4 x singles. The Gaol is located only metres behind the main cottage and the perfect kids escape and hideaway!
