Description

The Rockhole Billabng is part of the largest permanent wetland area of the Mary River system. The Top ENd wet season transfroms the Mary RIver Wetlands into an inland sea & replenishes the earth after the long dry. Fish, crocodiles & birds breed & flourish. As the wetseaon waters subside, the 'dry season' creates an awesome spectacle to view huge numbers of bird species & large crocodiles. It is a wildlfe observers paradise.

The Rochole is located approx 2 hours drive from Darwin via the Arnhem Hwy & Point Stuart Road. Once on the Point Stuart Road (17kms past the 'Bark Hut' roadhouse) turn left at the Rockhole Road 'Mary River Wetlands Cruise'. Departure point is 18kms from the Point Stuart Road. This 18kms is a well maintained gravel road suitable for 2wd vehicles in the dry season.
