The City of Palmerston is an active young community. The city is 21km south of the Territorys capital, Darwin, and has attracted many young families. Our population is approximately 39,000.

Palmerston City Council is located on the corner of Chung Wah Tce and University Ave.

Office hours are: 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

2017 is filled with even more events for City of Palmerston, starting off with our popular program FlicNics, This dry season, once again the City of Palmerston is transforming Goyder Square into a FREE outdoor cinema, giving residents the chance to enjoy the stunning Top End dry season nights with a FREE movie shown every Saturday night from 22 April – 16 September! We will be having two THEMED events for our FlicNics, the first one kicking off on 13th May for Family Week, with the showing of the classic Mary Poppins! The second THEMED event will be on the 9th September with the power house movie The Sapphires, there will be prizes for the best dressed and additional entertainment. Enjoy our Top End dry season sunsets and relax on the Goyder Square lawn listening to LIVE bands from local artists every SECOND SUNDAY FROM 14th MAY. Each session 5-7.30pm, Moskos Market will be open with food, coffee and cakes or pack a picnic. LAST LIVE IN THE SQUARE FOR THE SEASON WILL BE 20TH AUGUST. Also this year in Goyder square we are holding Yoga and Tai Chi once a week, check out the website for more detail www.palmerston.nt.gov.au . The Heights, Durack Community Centre Located at 33 Packard Avenue, overlooking the lake in The Heights, Durack. The facility has high ceilings, plenty of cross ventilation and natural lighting. The art rooms open to a balcony, there’s a small kitchenette, storage space and the rooms themselves are specifically designed for art and craft activities. It is available to hold a class or cultural activity or to use the space for your own personal art and craft activities. Voices of Palmerston This is a new and exciting arts project focused on the people and places of Palmerston. It aims to capture and share the stories of everyday people living, working and playing in Palmerston. These stories may be told in many different ways and about a million different topics!
