At Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service, we believe that a family centered approach is the most helpful one when providing therapeutic services to families in Darwin and Katherine. Description
Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service is a private multi-disciplinary therapy service with its main office located in Millner (Darwin), and the second office open in Katherine (Old Gorge Health Building- crn of Second and Giles Street).
We provide services to children aged 0-12 years, adolescents aged 13-17, adults 18+, couples and families. We have Specialists on our team that work solely with children/adults with special needs (for example; autism, sensory integration disorders, Dyspraxia, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injuries, visual impairment/ blind, Strokes)
We provide services in Darwin, Katherine, Jabiru, Bathurst Island, Maningrida and Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Gove and also rural and remote throughout the Northern Territory (on demand).
Our staff use the latest in advanced therapeutic techniques and equipment to help improve the health and well-being of children and families. Our models of therapy are evidence-based. This means that there is research existing for each model proving they are highly effective treatment models.
To ease access to our services, we accept payment through DSS Helping Children with Autism package and Better Start. Our services are covered by private Health Insurance Providers, and we are registered providers with Medicare to access, Enhanced Primary Care, Focused Psychological Strategies, Autism Initiatives, Mental Health Care Plan. Stepping Stones in Life Therapy Service is also an ATAPS provider. Children aged 0-12 years can access up to 12 free Mental Health OT and Psychologist per financial year. To access this funding you will need a referral from your G.P. Parents interested in attending workshops and parenting courses can access these free of charge with a referral under the ATAPS funding from your G.P.
