Aquascene
This unique and increasingly popular attraction gives you an introduction to several of the marine species living off the Darwin coast.
At high tide hundreds of fish come into the shallows looking for a free feed - and they certainly get it at Aquascene!
It is a ritual that began in the late 1950's when a local resident threw scraps of food to a few mullet. Somehow word got around in the fish populace and now milkfish, bream, catfish and many other species join the mullet in the skirmish for a meal.
At Doctors Gully, right in the heart of Darwin and within walking distance of most city hotels is a unique attraction which has been featured in countless television programs and magazine articles world wide and voted "most popular attraction" in tourism surveys. AQUASCENE is where hundreds of fish come to shore at high tide to be fed by hand.
Milkfish, mullet, catfish, bream and barramundi can be seen close enough to touch as they compete with each other for food. Many other species including rays, cod, mangrove jack and diamond fish may also be seen in the shallows if you watch carefully.
Opening Times: Aquascene operates twelve months of the year and is open every day that the tides and weather permit (except Christmas Day). Opening times are totally dictated by tidal movements and change from day to day. It is therefore most important that any potential visitor check this information before going to see the fish feeding. Opening times are advertised in local publications - also available from accomodation houses, caravan parks and tourist information offices. Alternatively, you can telephone (08) 8981 7837 or click on the monthly times on this page. Please click below for Aquascene times for this year: Feeding Times

Barkly Tourism
Located between Alice Springs and Katherine with Tennant Creek its Golden Heart, the Barkly is synonymous with the cattle industry. The rich grassland of the Barkly Tableland has seen the rise of many of Australia’s premier cattle stations, and the characters that work them are an integral part of the Barkly community.
The traditional owners of the area surrounding Tennant Creek are the Warumungu and their culture is very much alive and well. Their stories are showcased in one of the country’s best cultural centres, Nyinkka Nyunyu in Tennant Creek.
Mining is another large contributor to what makes this area unique. It all started in the 1930’s when gold was discovered, setting off Australia’s last gold rush. The history of this area remains and is encaptured at the Battery Hill Mining Centre. There is still plenty of gold to be found, and mining remains an vital part of the region’s economy.
The Aboriginal culture, cattle stations and mining shaped the people and lives of those that reside in the Barkly, and it’s the people that will make your journey such a memorable one. Stay a while and discover the local’s passion for this special place.

Kakadu Air Services
Kakadu and neighbouring Arnhem Land is a vast panorama of changing landscapes, as varied as ancient sandstone plateau edged with dramatic escarpments, trapped waters form rivers and thrust a winding path seaward, flanked by billabongs, floodplains, forest and all things between.
Unfortunately, but logically Kakadu Highways avoid wet or rocky terrain, and the forest veils the sights we anticipated and expected to see.
A Kakadu Air scenic flight rises above it all, giving views that will forever change your perception of this timeless land.
Seasonal Conditions
Kakadu is treated to the tropical monsoons from December to March. The land is refreshed and revitalized.
There is so much to see we vary our flights to suit the seasons.
From January to May the 70 minute helicopter flight and 1 hour fixed wing flights explore the wilderness and waterfalls to the south, Jim Jim and Twin Falls are magnificent. These flights cease around May/June as the water falls dry.
All year the shorter flights and from June to December the longer flights view the spectacular variations to the land forms in the northern Kakadu and Arnhem Land areas. There are escarpments, outliers, amazing sandstone erosion, billabongs, rivers and floodplains. The longer the flight the better the sight.
Kakadu Air
Established 1981 is the Territory's longest established, most experienced, best equipped, best value, scenic flight company

Kakadu Animal Tracks
Join the tour the Top End is talking about! From June to October, Kakadu Animal Tracks Safaris depart at 1pm daily from Gagudju Lodge Cooinda, Kakadu National Park, in our open-sided specialised 4wd safari vehicle in small groups. We drive a short distance to the Kakadu Buffalo Farm Reserve, a wildlife rich area of 150 km. sq. that only this Kakadu tour is permitted to visit. As we safari, we search for wildlife, learn about bush foods, aboriginal uses for plants and animals, plants for making baskets, mats and shelters. It is possible to view many wildlife species on this safari with the highlight being an amazing wetland called Gindjala (Goose Camp) where from roughly July to September you may watch the largest bird gathering in the Top End at that time. At sunset, we make a camp fire at a remote location/wildlife viewing point and enjoy hot billy tea and fresh damper and relax to an amazing Kakadu sunset watching birds and animals on the move.

Marksie's Stockman's Camp Tucker Night
Dine under the stars in the grounds of the Katherine Museum.
Watch the wallabies and hear the night life in the tranquil surroundings reminiscent of an outback stockman's camp.
Enjoy a camp tucker meal with damper and gum leaf billy tea.
Be entertained with Aussie humour; true and not so true yarns; the good, the bad and some a little bawdy.
Marksie learnt his bush skills in the Mallee from his grandfather who was trapping rabbits for a living. Fried, fricasseed, roasted, potted, steamed, cooked over coals on a shovel, any way you could think of, underground mutton was served.
Marksie's grandmother was so worried about the lack of variety in the family diet that once a month she cooked a camp oven full of ferret stew - to rid their system of the rabbit build up - a recipe which to this day remains a treasured family secret.
These tours run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (March - December - weather permitting these two months) Other days by appointment

Perrys on the Daly
Dick Perry's association with the Northern Territory's Fishing tourism dates back to the early 1980's. As part of a successful fishing tackle business (est.1976) and a marine dealership in Sydney, Dick developed PERRYS BARRAMUNDI FISHING SAFARIS'.
Perry's organized and conducted Coach Fishing Safaris to the Gulf, Northern Territory and Kimberleys to fish for barramundi and held one of the first commercial tour-operators license to fish for Barramundi in World Heritage Area, Kakadu N.T.
As a result of this long attachment to the NT and fishing tourism, "PERRY'S ON THE DALY P/L" was established. The opportunity to purchase 1000 acres right on the banks of the Daly River in 1993, was too good to miss as Dick and Carol had formed a love of the area and the "Mighty Daly River".
Facilities include:
Fishing Tackle and Gift Shop
Dinghy hire
Fishing Rod and Reel hire and repair service
Ice, Gas, Marine Repairs
Shady Camping and Caravan Sites
Serviced Tents

Seven Spirit Bay Eco Wilderness Resort
Your adventure to this remote wilderness region begins with a 45-minute scenic flight in a light aircraft, travelling northeast from Darwin over Van Diemens Gulf to the Cobourg Peninsula. On arrival at Vashon Head, Midjari private airstrip, your host will greet you and transfer you to the Resort by safari vehicle.
Just as tribal ancestors were inspired by the land so many thousands of years ago, Seven Spirit Bay will touch your soul and inspire your sense of adventure. The Parks conserve a mosaic of sandy beaches, dunes and associated coastal grasslands, mangroves, rainforest patches, swamps, lagoons, coral reefs, sea grass meadows and rich marine life. The Cobourg Marine Park protects several rare species, including the Dugong and marine turtles - Loggerhead, Hawksbill, Green, Olive Ridley, Leatherback and Flatback Turtles.
The area also has an interesting ancient and contemporary history. Archaeologists generally agree that Aboriginal people have been living in the area for 40,000 years. The Parks lie within the clan estates of the Iwaidja speaking peoples of western Arnhem Land. Custodianship is shared between four Aboriginal clan groups, the Agalda, Ngaindjagar, Madjunbalmi and Muran. These clans have continual spiritual links with the land and sea. Their ancestors from Creation Era (Dreamtime) created the land and all it contains. The Parks are therefore cultural landscapes that have been shaped and managed by cultural traditions. To be granted exclusive permission to set foot on this vast ancestral land is a distinct privilege. Each visitor to this remote area is granted a special permit by the Tribal Elders (arranged by the Resort) - bestowed only to those individuals who recognise the calling to rediscover the spirit of the wilderness.
The Resort is superbly sited in the tropical forest, just a few metres from the sea, Seven Spirit Bay nestles among the trees in virtually untouched forest, designed to be in complete harmony with the environment. Natural harmony, open to the sea breezes and the sights and sounds of the tropics - day and night - has been achieved through a design style that is tropical, relaxing and completely elegant.
The lodge is barely discernible from the air or water, however has commanding views across the bay. The main building is the focus of activity from which meandering paths weave through the native, open woodland to several clusters of tropical style accommodation units, called 'sea-view villas'. The main building offers a spacious indoor/outdoor dining area, cocktail bar and guest lounge - surrounded by cool, lush lawn and broad decking which overlooks the lagoon pool and the impressive vista of the Arafura Sea.
Seven Spirit Bay offers a unique range of complimentary guided walks and optional adventure experiences - thrill to world famous sports fishing, cruise the secluded bays and estuaries of the Peninsula, trek one of the many nature trails or enjoy some of the plentiful wildlife on a 4WD.

Moving to Darwin in 1996, Gaynor worked as a Manager for numerous jewellery stores’, specialising in staff training and valuations.

Wayoutback Desert Safaris is a genuine small group operator carrying a maximum of 9 to 16 passengers in late model air conditioned Toyota LandCruisers and Mitsubishi Canter 4WD's. Wayoutback believe the only authentic way to experience the Red Centre is by getting away from the crowds and immersed in the beauty and vastness of the desert - driving dirt tracks, bush camping, cooking over a campfire and sleeping under the stars.
Visit all the must see places such as Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), Kings Canyon / Watarrka National Park, Palm Valley and the West MacDonnell Ranges. For an unforgettable indigenous experience, the 2, 2.5 and 5 day safaris visit the inspirational Oak Valley Aboriginal Community south of Alice Springs.
All Wayoutback safaris include four wheel driving and all our bush camps are remote sites where you get the feeling you really are Wayoutback.

Wilderness 4WD Adventures
Our guides are very professional and are well versed on all aspects of the Top End and the Kimberley. Constant evaluation programs ensure that our guides possess extensive knowledge of the flora, fauna, geology and culture of these regions. Most of our guides have been guiding for several years and are very enthusiastic about showing passengers the local wildlife. All guides hold current first aid certificates & have completed courses in both remote area operations and minimal impact techniques.
To fully enjoy what the Top End and The Kimberley has to offer, you need to travel in a 4WD vehicle and that is a fact. We operate only 4WD vehicles that range in size from 9–13 seats, so an emphasis is placed on small group personalised tours. Our vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to minimize the risk of breakdowns during any of our tours. All of our vehicles are airconditioned.
Our tour vehicles all tow trailers with the necessary equipment to make your camping safari as comfortable as possible. We provide swags (April – Nov), sleeping mats, easy-to-erect tents, camp chairs, tables, 12 volt fluorescent lights, communal torches and eskies (ice boxes to keep the food fresh and the drinks cold).
Tour ticket, hat, torch (if you have one), camera and film, sleeping bag (hire fee $10), closed walking shoes (essential), open footwear (optional), sunscreen, mosquito repellent, toiletries, towel, swimming gear, water bottle (1.5 litre), alcohol(cheaper from town), long-sleeved shirt and a small bag only – minimal luggage please (maximum 10kg on Kimberley tour). Dont wear good clothes.
Tours include main meals, fruit, snacks and all the necessary camping equipment required for a great experience. Tours also include an awesome Corroboree Billabong Crocodile & Wildlife Cruise (except Kimberley tours) and where stated - Excusive Aboriginal Cultural Experience.

Willis's Walkabouts
Bushwalking, trekking, hiking, backpacking, tramping -- whatever you call our holidays, they are different. We begin where the four wheel drive tours stop.
On every trip, our experienced guides lead you off-trail into wonderful places where you enjoy Aboriginal rock-art, beautiful gorges, birdwatching, photography, wildflowers, waterfalls and superb campsites you share with no one but your walking companions. They are yours and yours alone because you walk to get there.
On all our trips, you carry a pack containing your food and equipment. You need reasonable fitness but our trips are not endurance tests. They get you away from the stress city life so you can relax and unwind in a way which would not be possible surrounded by the trappings of civilisation.
We take you to places where there are no phones, no cars, no people, no hassle – places where you can swim in clear, tropical pools, camp under the most amazing star show on earth, enjoy a three-course meal by the campfire and relax the evening away with a group of like-minded people.
Trips range from short walks of three or four days to six week expeditions. Some trips are relatively easy, others are relatively difficult. All offer plenty of time to relax, have a break and stop for a swim.
