Katherine Krocs Golden Oldies Rugby Union Club was formed in the early 1990’s by a few aging members of the “Katherine Rucking Roos” with the help of many ex-pat Kiwi players.
Our first few games were against the well drilled Darwin Stubbies, who travelled over 300km to play.
1992 - Green and gold hoops, were our official “Set of Strip” colours for the Krocs (bumble-bees, jail-birds etc). Our first official Golden Oldies Festival as a club was Christchurch 1995. (Welcomed the Horny Derelicts from Dannivirke NZ enjoyed a great game and night of entertainment after the tour).
2002 – KEG-OFF (Katherine Eccentric Golden Oldies Football Festival)
held in Katherine to raise funds for Junior Rugby. Teams from Katherine, Darwin Stubbies, Casuarina Stray Cats Jabiru and Gove attended
2003 – Celebrated our 10th Anniversary for the Club.

Description
The Katherine Krocs play a social game on the second Saturday of every month except January.
We usually play members of the local constabulary and depending on numbers play either 7’s , 10’s or 15 aside.
The premiere event on our yearly calendar is on Waitangi Day in early Feb. Aus. V NZ. Usually played in good spirit but as with all things trans Tasman the stakes go up a notch.
The Krocs tour the Golden Oldies Festivals and are also heavily involved with fundraising in the Katherine region. We are happy to play other Clubs anywhere, anytime and if anyone wishes to have a run with us contact us on the numbers and emails provided.
Katherine Krocs are well schooled in all things Rugby and are known for their prowess both on the paddock and at the bar. We are a broad church and welcome new members with gusto.
The club meets on the first Monday of each month 5.30pm Katherine Sports and Rec Club.
